iCar Bazar ("we", "our", or "the Platform") operates the iCar Bazar mobile applications (available on Android, iOS, and Huawei) and the website at icarbazar.com. We are committed to safeguarding the privacy and personal information of car buyers, individual sellers, and registered car shops across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
This Privacy Policy explains how our services collect, use, store, and protect your information when you access or interact with our marketplace.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information strictly necessary to facilitate verified automotive marketplace transactions:
- Authentication & Account Data: Mobile phone numbers used for secure SMS or WhatsApp One-Time Password (OTP) verification, seller display names, and optional profile avatars.
- Vehicle Listing Information: Photos of vehicles uploaded by sellers, vehicle identification numbers (VIN) where provided, technical specifications (make, model, year, transmission, mileage), diagnostic details (paint status / بۆیاخ و لێدراو), and asking prices in USD or IQD.
- Location Information: City, governorate, or showroom location selected by the user to enable nearby vehicle discovery across Kurdistan and Iraqi governorates. We do not track continuous GPS location in the background.
- Direct Communication Data: When you tap to call or chat with a dealer via WhatsApp, the interaction is handled directly via your device's native telephone or WhatsApp application.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To display and publish active car listings to prospective buyers.
- To authenticate user sessions securely and eliminate spam or fraudulent ads.
- To verify car shops, dealerships, and showroom partner accounts.
- To deliver push notifications regarding price updates, ad approvals, and saved vehicle alerts via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
3. Data Storage & Security Standards
All media files, vehicle photo galleries, and inspection reports are securely processed and hosted on high-performance, encrypted cloud object storage (Cloudflare R2 and secure cloud infrastructure) protected by TLS/SSL encryption in transit and AES-256 at rest.
Zero Third-Party Advertising Brokers: We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal telephone numbers or browsing activity to third-party ad networks, data brokers, or marketing agencies.
4. Account & Data Deletion Rights
In accordance with Google Play and Apple App Store user data protection regulations, you retain full ownership and authority over your personal information:
- You can delete your account and all associated vehicle listings directly within the mobile application by visiting Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- You can submit an instant deletion request via our dedicated web portal at Account Deletion Page.
- Upon account deletion, your phone number, profile, active listings, uploaded photos, and saved favorites are immediately removed from public display and permanently expunged.
